You can see far and wide at the “Top of the Hill”! This fantastic home is located one minute away from the Pleasant Valley Wine Trail, where you will enjoy some of the best wineries Paso Robles has to offer! Villa San-Juliette, High Camp, Locatelli, Graveyard Vineyards, J Lohr and Riverstar, just to name a few. Less crowded than the west side, you can also enjoy walks and bike rides in the canyon and neighboring roads. Only 15 minutes to downtown Paso Robles to enjoy the many delicious restaurants, tasting rooms or breweries. The views will take your breath away. From every room in the house, you will enjoy vineyard and rolling hill views. Four bedrooms and three bathrooms luxuriously and comfortably accommodate eight guests. Three bedrooms share two hall bathrooms in one wing of the house and the master suite, with king bed and soaking tub is situated on the opposite end of the house. Beautifully decorated, with comfort and style in mind, this home is perfect for a gathering of friends or family. Probably the best stocked rental we have ever stayed in. Not only the kitchen (dishes, appliances, gadgets, condiments), but the home itself. Clean, super comfortable, and AWESOME views. Nice, private house on a hill with views!
This was a great vacation home for the group of us 8 friends. We got to enjoy the backyard star gazing at night with the fire pit on while inside we got to watch tv and play games together. The space was perfect as each pair got a room to themselves. Plus a total of 3 bathrooms. The home was very private and clean. The appliances and furniture were all modern and new. We would return to book this same rental for the space and privacy. Only downside is that because it is remote and up on a hill it is a bit of a drive away from downtown. Maybe 10-15 min as opposed to the homes that are local and walking distance from downtown. But we knew that prior to booking and were ok with it. Perfect Family Getaway
This property was perfect for us and will be perfect for you. We are a large family celebrating my father’s 70th bday. Absolutely beautiful view ( pictures don’t do it justice) and stunning home that has everything you need included. Fully stocked kitchen with appliances, extra linens and towels, huge variety of board games. It is secluded for privacy but also somehow only 15 mins away from everything. You can completely unwind and just enjoy views (including local farm animals roaming) or you can plug in for work and make this the ultimate corner office with a view. Some favorites to point out: firepit at night, coffee watching sunrise in the nook, electric bike winery hopping (at least 4-5 wineries nearby including castoro and ranchita valley ). All in all everything was taken to another level by Candi. She was communicative, gracious, helpful, and just the best host you can ask for. Special shout out to the best guard tortoise, Speedy! Excellent sunrise and sunset views. Backyard is huge allowing lot of activities. Fire pit with star gazing in the night was our favorite. Peaceful House on Top of the Hill
We had a great time in Paso Robles for Father’s Day weekend. The drive up to the top of the hill was a bit far, but we love the peacefulness and quietness. The house was perfect for two family and gave us a warm feeling. We love watching the sunset in the back of the house while having BBQ for dinner. 360 degree's of spectacular
We chose "top of the hill" for our anniversary getaway and it was perfect! Not only the ease and friendliness of working with Beth from PRVR, and also Candi the property owner whom it was lovely to meet briefly while on our stay. The house and view are spectacular, quite secluded relaxing and fun bonus with the bocce court. We were completely comfortable, no COVID concerns because the house was spotless and they took great care to even have sanitizer available to us to use while there. In all the rental homes my wife and I have stayed at this by far win's the best pantry, a nice surprise bonus as my wife loves to cook we found every spice needed and no want for amenities at all. The location is north but not to far from wineries and dining, however we chose to cook in each night of our stay because we enjoyed the house so much and the views changed each day with the various weather conditions, sun rises and sets! Great place! Good size rooms and really comfortable beds. We had 2 kids and loved feeding Speedy as well and there were so many board games. Kitchen has most supplies (although bring your own cooking oil, salt, and pepper). Also the grill hasn't been cleaned in years so that was a surprise. Beautiful views all around. Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay, overall! Thanks for alerting us about the salt, pepper and olive oil supplies. We do in fact provide all of those supplies in the panty, along with just about every other spice you may need. However, it appears that those particular supplies were not put back in the proper place (the appropriately labeled bins that are in the panty), which is likely why you were not able to find them. We've remedied that. We complete a thorough check of the house in between each guest stay, including cleaning the grill, which got missed before your stay. Unfortunately, it sounds like the guest prior to your arrival did a number on the grill! Our sincerest apologies for the inconvenience. We would love to welcome you back in the future!
40th birthday girls trip
This property is gorgeous, the picture don’t do it justice. It was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed for the perfect weekend getaway! In addition to the house being amazing the owner was absolutely wonderful to work with. They were very responsive and went out of their way to make sure our stay was amazing. The home has everything you need, stocked pantry, plenty of extra linens, games and activities and so much more. My only suggestion is to be sure and arrive before it gets dark because it can be a challenge to locate in the dark if you aren’t familiar with the area. A Little Piece of Heaven
WOW! I'm hesitant even writing this review because I want to keep this place a secret, but everyone should know that a magical place on top of a hill really exists. From the time you get to the property you're consumed by nature and breathtaking views. Once you enter the house you immediately feel like it's your own, with every amenity you'd ever need along the way. The kitchen is massively stoked with everything you need to cook any sort of meal, so my recommendation is get some supplies ahead of time and cook whenever you can. You can tell a lot of thought and effort went into appointing and decorating the house as well. The backyard and fire pit are a serious component that make this house truly special, so make sure to spend some time out there!

Bachelorette Weekend at Top of the Hill
We were shocked at how beautiful this house really was. Sometimes pictures do a really good job of deceiving renters but these don't even do the place justice. The sunsets are unbelievable and we even got up early to watch the sunrise too. The house is so well maintained and clean you really feel at home. I did not want to leave! I have already suggested we come back for a couple's retreat with my (almost) husband and some friends and have recommended family reunions be here. It's so quiet and peaceful; it's the perfect getaway. I'm a city girl working the Silicon Valley tech life and I forgot how many stars there are in the sky; you could see to heaven from this house. Fantastic place literally at the top of the hill
We stayed here over the new year (5 friends) and had a fabulous time. The house is spacious and well laid out. Kitchen/dining room/living room is open space so communal cooking is fun (and the kitchen is stocked with everything you'd need to cook -- we cooked elaborate meals for 5). Bedrooms are pretty private (FYI, there were no curtains or blinds on the master bedroom's windows when we stayed there, so bring an eye mask if you like to sleep in). There are enough bathrooms for a large group: one very nice bathroom (with awesome soaking tub) off the master bedrooms, two other bathrooms off the other wing with the other three bedrooms. The back patio is AMAZING. Views for miles, great fire pit for lounging. It's windy (as another commenter said) but absolutely possible to spend lots of time out there. We had brunch out back at the huge communal table in early January. Paso Robles is a 20-minute drive. All in all, fantastic place. - Maya F., Oakland, CA

Top of the Hill is Out of This World!
Great VRBO! This is an unusual VRBO in that it has EVERYTHING you could possibly need. The kitchen, pantry, bedrooms, bathrooms are well stocked and maintained. The kitchen was like working in your own - you could host Thanksgiving dinner and not have to bring anything with you. The views are amazing and the fire pit was great to sit around in the evening with friends. We had 4 couples and everyone had plenty of space. I just wish the master bath had some type of shades for privacy, since we had so many people walking around. But other than that - AWESOME VRBO! Will return next year. AWESOME place to stay with a few minor privacy issues
This home is incredible! You are literally on top of a hill overlooking rolling hills and vineyards in every direction! The home is very clean, spacious, modern, and nicely decorated. The pantry is well stocked (although we brought everything we needed.) My 3 yr son had a blast as he finally got to run wild in the backyard.
**Please note that there's a couple of PRIVACY ISSUES to be aware of...
1. There is a security camera inside the home that points at the front door. The problem is that this camera is microphone enabled. (I happen to own the exact camera.) This is very concerning as you can listen (or speak) through the camera. The owners should just mount a camera on the outside of the front door OR tell guests to unplug the camera upon entry.
2. We had an unannounced visit from the owner or groundskeeper who was in the backyard watering shrubs. For women like my girlfriend who like to walk around the house partially clothed, this caused quite a stir! There are lots of windows in the house some of which do not have curtains. (Kitchen, dining room, master bathroom have no curtains!) It's pitch black outside at night due to how isolated this location is.
Not to mention we had the living room curtains wide open as it was a beautiful day. This unexpected visit spooked my girlfriend so for the remainder of our stay she stayed pretty well dressed. We don't care that someone came to do maintenance on the backyard but at least give your guests heads up. It's crucial to instill trust in your guests that are paying LOTS of money to enjoy a visit at this great home.

Hi Kevin, Thanks for taking the time to leave your thoughtful review of Top of the Hill. We are delighted you enjoyed your stay, overall, and apologize for the security camera intrusion. The property host has said they had no idea this was the case (microphone enabled) "as we are not very technically savvy! We installed the camera (facing the front door) simply to be able to see in case there was ever an intruder (not to "spy")!" The camera has now been completely removed. Again, we apologize about the onsite groundskeeper without you being aware in advance. The property host sent an email/text with this info, but apparently it was not received. In most cases maintenance is done when there are no guests at the house, however with the triple digit temperatures, there was no choice but to water during your stay. Had a fantastic experience in every way possible at 'Top of the Hill'. The house was beautiful, well maintained and the views and wide open spaces were to die for. The hosts incredible hospitality only added to be the best experience I have had in Paso for many years. With so many wonderful wineries so close by, I would never stay anywhere else. High School Friends Gateway Every Year for the Past 20 Years
This home was amazing!!! We loved everything about the home from the floors, to how comfortable the beds are to having large enough common area spaces for use to all be together; such as the couch and the kitchen table. Having a kitchen so well stocked so we could just hang out at the home and visit with each other was just what we wanted!! The fire pit was perfect to enjoy at night while looking at the stars and hearing the Coyotes. We pick a new place every year but I could see us coming back to this home again. Incredible!
This is our second time staying at Top of the Hill ... and it will not disappoint. The guest rooms are comfortable and well designed. Kitchen is well stocked and has everything you need ... you could cook Thanksgiving dinner and bring nothing but the food! The outdoor fire pit is awesome and the views are incredible.

Magnificent View's
We stayed 3 nights as we were touring the Paso Wineries and we loved staying at the house. Completely stocked home, any time we had a question for the owner they got right back to us. Views of a lifetime
Simply put: the 360-degree views from the house are exquisite. The house is perfect for a weekend getaway but really even a holiday weekend wasn't enough. We wanted more time there! The house is very private and comes with everything you need. Candi is super responsive to any questions or issues. I brought my road bike and had an awesome ride on the country roads of San Miguel.
