We needed a last minute place to stay in North County for a week (for myself and small children). We were glad to have found something within our budget that worked for our needs. Overall our experience was good, however there were a couple things that posed a challenge. First, was finding the place. We followed the recommendation to go during daylight after reading other reviews that it was difficult to locate. We had the address in both our car and phone's gps, but both led us on a wild goose-chase. We finally found it (90 mins later) after ending up at the wrong place and talking to whomever lived there tending the vinyard. More detailed description of how to find this rental would have been majorly helpful.

The other annoyance was the lack of curtains. We had two small children using the futon couchbed in the living room. The problem was the front door directly adjacent is glass and the large windows in the nearby dining area were completely uncovered. That made for a VERY early morning for all of us. The curtains in the bedroom were white and didn't block any light at all. We ended up having to use thumbtacks and blankets to darken both the main living area and bedroom. Luckily we were gone every day from after breakfast till bed time, so we just left them like that, but taking that up and down every day would have been a huge burden had we been there during the day not wanting to be in a dark space. Some basic blackout curtains would go a long way to ensuring guests who are on vacation can actually sleep in past 5:30. Besides that, the place was clean, well stocked and rather charming. The location was beautiful (albeit very hard to find initially), and tranquil. We'd stay here again if blackout curtains were installed, and would recommend to a friend were more detailed directions on how to get here provided.
Surrounded by Oaks for a peaceful retreat.

What a great retreat surrounded by oaks and vineyards! The kitchen is minimal, so plan ahead for all cooking to be done on the bbq, but we made it work and had some great dinners on the deck! Along with the additional deck space and surrounding property, it was a great place to relax for a few days.
hard to find but nice

This place was incredibly difficult to find. The directions provided led us in the wrong direction near the end of the route and the GPS was unable to determine the location.
The place is comfortable but note that the ceilings are very low and slanted at some places. It is not recommended for anyone over about 6'.
Absolutely Lovely
