A perfect spot for four couples on a wine tasting adventure!
We have visited wine country all over the world, but Paso Robles was a real find! Excellent wine; wonderful, small wineries; friendly people to the max; and the this house was an ideal base of operations. Four bedrooms (actually, five), each with their own bathroom. We stayed in Downtown Diggs for five nights and overall it was a wonderful experience. There were seven of us staying and there was plenty of room. The location cannot be beat. For us it was less than a five minute walk to the restaurants in downtown Paso. The house was spotless and well stocked. The kitchen has great appliances and had everything we needed for the breakfasts and one dinner we had at the house. The management company was great. We had one issue with a toilet that ran for a very long time and maintenance arrived within two hours of our phone call to fix it. We had great weather so took advantage of the grill and the outside sitting areas. The grill's igniter switch was not working but that was easily fixed with a lighter. The only downside was the bed in the on suite bedroom on the main floor. The mattress was extremely uncomfortable. It seemed very old and sagged towards the middle. My husband and I had a very uncomfortable night, and very sore backs, before switching to the other main floor bedroom which had a nice mattress. If that room had not been empty I don't know what we would have done because we could not have spent the entire stay in the other bed. I would recommend replacing that mattress. Greatest Downtown Paso House
From the moment we unlocked the door, we knew we were going to have a wonderful wine tasting trip in Paso Robles. This quaint Victorian-style house was perfect for our large party of 8 adults. Each couple had their own bedroom and bathroom and there was even an extra bedroom to escape a snoring husband! The property was actually better than described. It was a hot weekend and the air conditioning worked perfectly. There was plenty of room to relax, great outdoor spaces, kitchen and dining areas. The outside deck was lovely at night and perfect for stargazing. We even saw the international space station and the Starlink satellite caravan pass by - it was awesome! Just a short walk into town, we were able to go to dinner without having to drive. Dinner at Fish Gaucho and Hatch was delicious, as was our home-cooked lasagna dinner on Saturday night. All the wineries we visited were fantastic too. Communication with Paso Vacation Rentals was super easy and professional. We definitely plan to visit this property again. The updated Victorian home easily fit four couples with a bedroom and full bath for each, plus an additional 5th bedroom we didn't need that sleeps four, and half bath, The kitchen was nicely renovated and dining room great for large gatherings. This home was beautiful in and out. I do have a few suggestions, however. The place needs: shelving in the bathrooms, scissors in kitchen, measuring cup with lines to indicate measurement, top to blender, pocket door handles need a good cleaning, no latch on first bedroom's bathroom pocket door handle so that it cannot close. Wonderful Home to Stay with your Friends
We so enjoyed our long weekend with our 10 friends in this lovely home. The dining room table saw a lot of card playing, laughs, and wine drinking. The weekend we were there was one of the hottest on record and we were so grateful for the amenities to cook in the home and to be in air conditioning.

Family Thanksgiving of our Dreams
This was a wonderful location for our multi-generational Thanksgiving gathering in Paso Robles. The size of the property, plenty of bathrooms, multiple "hang-out" areas, the hot tub, the dining table large enough for us all to sit together for dinner, the well appointed kitchen, and the VERY easy walk to town (and the playground!) made this perfect for our family. With both grandparents and kids (aged 1 to 6), there was enough space and fun for everyone both on the property and in town. While the lighting could use a refresh (and several lamps seemed to not work at all), all-in-all the place was clean, comfortable, functional, and a great place to gather as a large family. Large house in a great location
It is a large house in a great location. Our group would recommend the following upgrades:
1- add shelving in the bathrooms. Pedestal sinks are pretty but not very convenient.
2- add curtains in the windows. The sunlight is blinding in the morning.
3- please provide steak knives
4- we had trouble with the TV in the den (upper floor). Reception was blurry at times and the sound came in erratically.
5- check the pedestal sink in the hallway. It is not attached to the wall correctly.
6- we could not figure out how to control the upstairs thermostat. The instructions do not match the model on the wall.

Superb Location
A lovely home in a superb location for enjoying the delights of downtown Paso and the surrounding area. It is perfect for a family reunion with 5 bedrooms and 4 baths. This was our second stay in the home and hopefully there will be more.
The only thing I would like to see improved are the beds in the two upstairs bedrooms. The bed in one of the bedrooms is so high that it requires a step stool to climb into and the mattresses in both rooms should be replaced. Not necessary to replace the lovely old four-poster bed frames, just the mattress and box springs and lower the one bed so it is easier to get into. - Robert S., Washington, UT

Amazing weekend with the girls!
This home is filled with charm and room to spare! When the 12 of us arrived, we were shocked at the character & cleanliness of the home. There was plenty of room (and bathrooms) to get ready, eat, cook, & gather. We made the short walk to McLintocks for dinner, and Pappy McGregor's for drinks. The next day we rented a party bus & visited four local wineries. We finished off the day with take-out and games on the large outdoor deck. On Sunday we were sad to leave & tried to figure out how we could squeeze in one more day. We have decided to make a tradition and return yearly. Loved the house and it’s different ambiance. There is plenty of room for everyone. We had a big group with a few kids and it was great how we were able to be all together but also have our adult/kid private time as well. We enjoyed a nice BBQ and cooked a couple of breakfast... that kitchen had it all!

Our stay in "Downtown Digs" was the best!
So much room to relax and enjoy, never felt the stress of not enough space, the kitchen allowed for "too many cooks", and dining was always more than comfortable.
We enjoyed the living room and parlor for its casual and intimate atmosphere. Due to rain we were unable to use the outdoor space, but, the bbq was great!
I would recommend this location without hesitation, we had a terrific experience.

A Fabulous Place to Relax
A group of my friends and I came up for a girls’ wine trip and were scheduled to stay at another property. When we reached Santa Barbara, I got a phone call saying that there was a major plumbing problem and that we had been moved to another property, Downtown Digs. We were really impressed at the company’s professionalism and we fell in love with the new location. It was just perfect for the 6 of us and it was only a quick walk to town. Great visit!
We recently traveled to Paso Robles for a long weekend with 2 other families. Downtown Diggs was the perfect home for a large group - 10 in total. The kitchen was extremely well equipped, and all of the tools (including a pastry brush) where we'll used by the cooks in our group. We valiantly tried to use all of he wine glasses in th cabinet but fell way short!
We encountered 2 issues during our stay and they were quickly remedied by Paso Robles Vacation Rentals - we couldn't figure out how to turn on the fireplace and we had no kitchen towels.
The beds were comfortable and the 4 bathrooms meant that there was never a line.
I would make one recommendation - have your early risers sleep downstairs, because the floor does creek and can be loud downstairs...

Our family had the best time at the Downtown Diggs home over Christmas Holiday. The house is in the perfect location, walk downtown and easy drive to wineries - some just about 2 miles away! The home was laid out perfectly with enough space for 7 adults and 4 kids to have their own space, private bathrooms, playtime and quiet time. The kitchen is perfect, has everything you need. We have a chef in the family and he was very happy with the kitchen and all provided!

Beautiful Home
This home is both charming and beautiful. The photos on the website do not do it justice. Its much larger and spread out than what is portrayed. It's obvious the owner has put much thought and care into decorating to the period of the home, and remodeling the kitchen and bathrooms to make it comfortable for guests. We had a group of nine people and we were very comfortable there, and there were multiple places for us to spread out. It also was a great location close to town, within easy walking distance to restaurants. The only drawback would be to say that some of the beds were a bit uncomfortable due to use, I would presume. Also, the lighting in the dining room is greatly lacking. I would suggest to the owner something brighter over the table. But, that being said, this wouldn't keep us from recommending this home. The property manager contacted me right after we arrived to make sure everything was okay, and we really appreciated that, and that they were available any time to contact. Downtown Diggs is a charming old house with large comfortable porches and easy walking access to great restaurants. It is one of the best vacation homes we've ever stayed in. In fact we have stayed there three times. By the way, it is spotless and the furniture is lovely. That said, the bathrooms are tiny and there is no place to put your toiletries while you dress. Fantastic group setting
A group of friends and I stayed here for a weekend and the experience was fantastic! The house and grounds were beautiful in a quiet residential neighborhood not far from downtown Paso. The house is charming and it's great that the owners have kept the historic touches. The house was clean and neat and the AC worked great all over the house, which is important during summer in Paso. I would suggest some ceiling fans in the bedrooms downstairs just to keep air circulating and maybe a few of the standard type supplies in the house. We had to go get foil, plastic wrap, sweeteners for coffee and a few other things that I am used to finding standard at rental houses. But overall the rental was a success and everyone in our group loved the place! We did have a problem with the garbage disposal one day but they sent someone out to get it fixed right away. One other area of improvement for the management company - we were supposed to be out by 11 am, which is early, and we were almost completely out by that time. We were finishing clean up and taking out the trash when someone came by from the management company. It was clear we were out - the cars were packed up and people outside - and that two of us were just making sure we had followed all instructions for clean up, taking out all trash, etc. The guy who came by at 11:10 acted like it was a big deal and said he would give us "five more minutes" before driving off. It was bit much under the circumstances and added a bit of a bad taint to the end of the stay. Otherwise, it was a great property. - Melissa H., Seattle, WA

This is a gorgeous and well equipped property that is virtually walking distance to restaurants and downtown activities. It is in excellent condition, both inside and outside. We are just returning from Paso with a group of 5 couples. The Downtown Diggs was a beautifully done home and the set up and location were perfect. We enjoyed cooking in the gourmet kitchen and eating alfresco on the back patio. Only little thing, the windows on the main level bedrooms did not open and those in the rooms were a lilttle warm. The management company contacted me a few days before our stay. That was a wonderful touch.You can't beat the location of this historical home. The interior detailing, although updated, had an incredible charm. The house was very spacious with room to spread out for 5 couples. This house would be a "10" if the kitchen was tidied up a bit. Get rid of old spices and make sure there's real sugar (not fake sweetner) for coffee. I love how they provided plenty of towels in each bathroom with shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and lotion like you expect in a hotel. The deck off the kitchen and sunshine through the large kitchen windows was a wonderful way to start the day. The house was immaculate, all the beds are very comfortable, it is in a quiet neighborhood but also easy walking distance to lots of restaurants. I hope to get a chance to stay there again soon. The one suggestion I would make would be to update one of the TV's so you can stream shows (I know you shouldn't go to Paso and watch TV but sometimes there are a few people who would like to!). The home was beautiful and worked well for our group (4 couples). The location was perfect, with an easy walk to downtown restaurants and wineries. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed for cooking. If we travel again with a large group, we will definitely stay here again.
Two things that didn't work when we got there was the code to unlock the door and the dishwasher. Both times when I called the property management company, they either answered or called back within 5 minutes. Both issues were handled quickly and professionally.
