The distance to downtown is approximately 8/10s of a mile making it just out of walking range for most and an uphill walk back! I''d suggest perhaps a morning stroll to town for exercise and enjoy the 2 minute drive to town in the evening for great dinner options, wine tasting rooms and live entertainment!
